Love Me, Love My Pets

Pets, what frustration, joy, and love they bring to our lives. Our household consists of one dog (Shorty) and two cats (zorro and lady), needless to say zorro is male and lady is female. We rescued Shorty from our local animal shelter. He had been severly neglected and looked so lost and forlorn. When I ask my husband James to look at the dog that I had already fallen in love with, matted and dirty hair made no difference. All James could say was "what do you see in that ugly dog". We have had him for nine years now and has become more than a pet and companion, he is very much a part of our family. The two cats were discovered in our window well by James. There mother had disappeared, probably killed. I took them in and raised them from two weeks old to now two years old. They have adopted me as their mother and will snuggled up to me. It took them some time to trust James but they did finally come around and become his friend. Sometime you would like to put them outside and forget them when they start playing with each other. It just seems that when they start to run nothing gets in there way, they just go over it. Just like a child when you tell them to stop they will give you that look, ah please we aren't through yet. It is so interesting to watch there hehavior and personality. They understand lets eat, breakfast, dinner, and supper. It is very important that they have regular visits to there vet to keep them in great health. Be kind to your pet and give them the love and respect they deserve. They will give it back double. Please be sure to support your local animal shelter, adopt a pet it saves lives.
